What does the qualification cover?
This qualification is an introduction to the information and knowledge needed to work in primary, secondary or special schools. It covers the many varied roles that full and part-time support staff may fulfill including administrative roles, site support roles, technical roles and volunteers, as well as those roles that work directly with children and young people in the school environment.
Who is it suitable for?
All those who would like to work in a school support role. It also provides initial training and induction for those new in post.
What are the entry requirements?
You should be at least 16 years old. CACHE does not set any other entry requirements but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines.
How many credits are required to complete it?
The Award requires 12 credits.
How is it assessed?
It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task set by CACHE.
Do you need to be working to take the qualification?
No, as this is a knowledge only qualification.
How long does it take to complete?
You can usually complete it in 6 months or less.
