Our online Paediatric First Aid course is designed to provide parents, caregivers, and anyone who works with children with the theoretical knowledge needed to handle emergencies involving infants and children.

If you are going to be a Paediatric First Aider at work or wish to register with Ofsted you need to complete our Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid which includes practical training in a classroom.

If you are a qualified Paediatric First Aider this course can help you refresh your knowledge between your regulated training.

  • Recognising and managing an infant or child who is suffering from anaphylactic shock
  • Managing an infant or child who has suffered a burn or scald
  • Recognising and managing an infant or child or has a suspected fracture
  • Manage a child who has a head, neck or back injury
  • Manage an infant or child with a foreign body in eyes, ears or nose
  • Managing an infant or child with an eye injury
  • Manage an infant or child suffering from a bite or sting
  • Recognise and manage an infant or child suffering from the effects of extreme heat or cold
  • Manage an infant or child who is suffering from a diabetic emergency, an asthma attack, an allergic reaction, meningitis; and/or febrile convulsions.

 

Recommended renewal: 3 yearly
The certificate does not have an expiry date, however, based on best practice it is recommended you refresh your knowledge every three years.
